Who
are we and where are we?

Province
VIII of the Brotherhood of Saint Gregory includes the Western United
States matching the geography of Province VIII of the Episcopal Church
and those brothers who reside outside of the United States of America.
The Minister Provincial for our province is Brother Karekin Madteos
Yarian, BSG who resides in San Francisco, California.
The
Province was established in 2002. At present, there are five professed
brothers in this province located in the following cities: San
Francisco, CA; Irvine, CA; Seward, AK; Gallup, NM; and two novice
brothers located in Newcastle, NSW Australia; and Brecon, Wales. Our
brothers are engaged in a variety of ministries including traditional
parish ministries, teaching ministries and community ministries
specific to the particular talents of each brother. BSG is a
particularly well educated bunch who Louis Crew
often refers to affectionately as "our wonderful Anglican Jesuits!"
Province VIII is no exception with three priests (and a fourth on the
way); several writers; two
teachers; all with
several doctoral and other degrees between them. How did we get so
lucky!
In
addition to their ministries, the brothers pray the four hours
(Morning, Noon, Evening, and Night) of the Daily Office in keeping with
the Rule of the Brotherhood of
St. Gregory. The Daily Office can be
found online in many places. Our particular favorite is at Oremus.
