Who
are we and where are we?

Province
VIII of the Brotherhood of Saint Gregory includes the Western United
States matching the geography of Province VIII of the Episcopal Church.
The Minister Provincial for our province is Brother Karekin Madteos
Yarian, BSG who resides in San Francisco, California.
The
Province was established in 2002. At present, there are four professed
brothers in this province located in the following cities: San
Francisco, CA; Irvine, CA; Salem, OR; and two novice
brothers located in New York City (as a seminarian at GTS); and San Francisco, CA. Our
brothers are engaged in a variety of ministries including traditional
parish ministries, teaching ministries and community ministries
specific to the particular talents of each brother. BSG is a
particularly well educated bunch who Louis Crew
often refers to affectionately as "our wonderful Anglican Jesuits!"
Province VIII is no exception with a priest and another candidate for Holy Orders; several writers; and a
teacher. How did we get so
lucky!
In
addition to their ministries, the brothers pray the four hours
(Morning, Noon, Evening, and Night) of the Daily Office in keeping with
the Rule of the Brotherhood of
St. Gregory. The Daily Office can be
found online in many places. Our particular favorite is at Oremus.
